EP SCOPE OF WORK – IMPLEMENTATION

RSV USA’s scope of work involved the following:

  • An evaluation of the existing hoisting and shaft system with the objective of increasing the hoisting capacity from the current 4.5 million tonnes per annum to 5.6 million tonnes per annum
  • EP for the recommended equipment changes and improvements. This included the preparation of a new design criteria, detailed design, various equipment scopes of work definition and specifications, procurement, quality control and construction management and commissioning support

Evaluation of the existing hoisting and shaft system facilities

This work was concerned initially with the review of the OEM feasibility and upgrade proposals for the hoist and shaft systems with a deliverable being a detailed report and recommendations of those proposals.

This work was followed by the preparation of separate feasibility study and deliverable reports incorporating the recommendations and changes to the existing hoisting and shaft systems which included a feasibility study level; estimate of capital cost, detailed schedule, detailed scope of work, design criteria, equipment specifications and scopes of work for the recommended changes of the equipment and improvements.

EP implementation of the recommended changes and improvements

The scope of work comprised the detailed engineering design of all the equipment changes and improvement to the hoisting and shaft systems. Deliverables comprised the issuance of detailed “issued for construction”, drawings, specifications, scopes work, detailed calculations and equipment evaluation and recommendations, various trade off studies and comparative reports, on-site tests and equipment measurement performances.

In addition to the detailed engineering design, support was provided for all procurement activities, technical bid evaluations, quality control documentation reviews of equipment supplied and construction contracts, construction and commissioning support. RSV USA also supplied on-site support and completed Electrical As-builts.
