Bathopele Phase 5 Project - EPCM

The Bathopele Phase 5 Project exploited the remaining UG2 reserves at the Bathopele mine by way of extending the east and central decline shafts along with performing mining activities in the west shaft. The refined platinum production in phase 5 is expected to be 136,000oz per
annum.

RSV has been involved with the study since its inception and the feasibility study commenced and thereafter appointed as the engineering, procurement and construction management consultant.

The UG2 reef will be mined using mechanised board and pillar extraction and conveyor belt ore removal. The mine is expected to reach full production in 2018 and the estimated investment on phase 5 is US$1.23bn.
