Our Team applies a combination of technical expertise and practical experience to your mining projects to enable you to successfully complete your project.

Jackie Boyd

President

Jackie is a highly committed professional with excellent analytical, managerial, financial and interpersonal skills. She joined RSV USA Consulting with a successful background of administrative excellence. She started out in the company as the Executive Administrator and raised through the ranks to be promoted as President of the Company. With projects, both locally and internationally, her dedication, attention to detail, administrative insight and success in completing challenging tasks in a timely manner holds her in good stead. She is a person with high integrity and excellent communication skills who is committed to successfully leading the company.

Dave Lunderstedt

Specialist Consultant

Dave Lunderstedt is engaged as a Specialist Consultant for RSV USA Consulting Inc. and has for the past three years worked as Project Principal for a shaft and hoist upgrade project in Portugal – Neves Corvo Mine – owned by Lundin Mining. Dave has a vast history of excellence in the mining industry.

Dave was the EPCM Manager for the Underground Exploration Project for Resolution Copper and prior to joining Resolution Copper, Dave was the project manager for a platinum project in South Africa, No. 16 Shaft at Impala Platinum Mines, which was an EPCM structured project of total value of $ 750 million. The project comprised two vertical shafts, surface and underground infrastructure.

Dave was also employed by Rio Tinto South Africa and worked on various major Rio Tinto mining projects in South Africa, the last of which was the Palabora Underground Mining Project. It was a 30 000 ton per day block cave operation which took Palabora Mining Company from an open pit operation to an underground mine. Dave was project manager responsible for all engineering design and construction and was associated with this project from its inception in 1989 to it completion and first ore hoisting in 2001.

Dave has 44 years of mining experience in both surface and underground mining and has been engaged in projects associated in the engineering design and construction of new shafts and development. His involvement has been with 10 vertical shafts ranging in diameters from 15 feet to 33 feet to depths up to 6500 feet.

Dave has a Government Certificate of Competency in mechanical engineering and a higher engineering diploma in mechanical engineering and is a member of the society of South African Mechanical Engineers.

Mathew Watt

Consulting Engineer

Mathew Watt is engaged as a Consulting Engineer with RSV USA Consulting Inc. He is currently working as the Principal Advisor – Mechanical Engineering and Infrastructure with the Rio Tinto Projects execution team in charge of supporting the execution of the No.9 Shaft Deepening Project. Mathew graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa) with a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Arizona.  Mathew’s career has been concentrated in vertical shaft operations, maintenance, construction and project management with 10 years spent on Resolution Coppers No. 10 Shaft Sinking Project, No. 9 Shaft Deepening Project and at Oyu Tolgoi Mongolia on the No. 5 Shaft Sinking Project. Prior to this Mathew worked at Placer Domes’ South Deep gold mine, HJ Joel GM and Randfontein Estates GM in various operations, maintenance and project roles all located in South Africa before joining Read Swatman and Voigt in 2003, a firm of consulting engineers and project managers.  Mathew has held a number of roles with the company, most notably Project Manager for Impala Platinum’s No. 16 Shaft Project. Mathew holds a Government Certificate of Competency (Metalliferous) for South African mining operations. 

Albert Wessels

Project Manager

Albert is an ambitious Engineer and Project Management professional with over twelve (12) years’ experience across multi-engineering disciplines in the mining and infrastructure industry. His involvement has mainly been in the design, construction and management of structures, equipment and systems. Some examples are conveyor systems, hoisting plants, compressed air plants, logistics systems, water handling systems, office and accommodation infrastructure facilities, shaft and station steelwork, underground station layouts and loading systems.

His experience includes site supervision, package management, project management, engineering management and engineering design services in various phases of coal, platinum, copper, zinc and gold projects and operations, across various locations around the world including South Africa, Zambia, Canada, United States of America (USA), Australia, Portugal, Sweden and Mongolia. This includes world renowned projects such as Impala No. 16 Shaft (South Africa), Resolution Copper (USA) and Oyu Tolgoi (Mongolia).

Albert holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (B.Eng) and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) which he completed cum laude. He also successfully completed both the Project Management Professional (PMP) and PRojects IN Controlled Environments (PRINCE2) certifications. He is a professional registered engineer and member of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
